Local stuff we recommend
Here are a few lodging establishments, restaurants, activities etc. we recommend checkout out!
A classic Maine waterfront retreat, located in East Boothbay. Play, swim, kayak, paddleboard, relax, and make new memories & friends! Ocean views of Linekin Bay, stunning sunsets from their private balconies. This place checks off all the boxes in our opinion -- it's the ideal spot for family vacations or couples getaways!
Located at the water's edge, this resort offers spectacular harbor views of picturesque Boothbay Harbor. All rooms and suites have been updated with an air of casual elegance. The resort features an unrivaled signature deck and one of the region's hottest new restaurants, Coastal Prime (their sushi is phenomenal!)
Located on the East side of Boothbay Harbor, Carousel Marina presents an unequivocal view of Maine's famous sunsets directly across the harbor. Equally pleasing is the ability to see firsthand the working boats and pleasure craft as they enter and leave the inner harbor. Check out Whale's Tale Restaurant while you're there! Super friendly and helpful staff -- a big reason we dock our boat here!
Offering trips to Maine's famous Monhegan Island, sailing charters through the harbor on the Bay Lady (if you're lucky, my father, Capt Al Dutremble, will be at the helm :), narrated rides to Squirrel Island on the boat named "Novelty", and a host of other on the water tours! Fun times for the whole family! (our daughters love these trips)
Whether you're a garden enthusiast or just someone looking for a serene escape, this place is an absolute must-visit in Maine. It's a little slice of botanical paradise that leaves you with a sense of wonder and tranquility.
If you like fresh seafood or family friendly dining by the water (with the opportunity to hold some live lobsters!) your trip to Boothbay Harbor is not complete without a visit to Robinson’s Wharf.
Fresh lobster, shrimp, scallops, calamari— and more! Full children’s menu to keep the little ones happy.
Robinson’s Wharf is home to live music on weekends during the summer
The Boothbay Harbor Region is perfectly situated to provide residents and visitors with the very best Maine has to offer. Located within a reasonable commuting distance of most major Maine cities, this mid-coast peninsula offers the perfect balance between small town coastal charm and urban accessibility. With one of the best boating harbors north of Boston, this area has long been the home to fishermen and sea captains and has attracted the notice of top notch marine biologists as well.
